Privacy
This page explains what personal information OGNTH keeps about you, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Last updated 19 September 2026.
What we keep
- Your account: your email address and password. Passwords are stored in a scrambled form, so nobody at OGNTH can see yours.
- Your account details: your name and phone number if you add them, and any delivery addresses you save.
- Your orders: your name, phone number, delivery address, what you ordered, and the order's payment and delivery status.
- "Email me when it's back" requests: the email address you give us, used once to tell you that item is back in stock.
- On your own device: your cart and your last delivery details are saved in your browser, so you don't have to type them again. You can clear them by clearing your browser's site data.
We never see or store card details on this website. When you pay online, you pay on PayFast's secure page. PayFast only tells us whether the payment went through.
Why we keep it
- to process, pack and deliver your orders
- to contact you about payment, delivery and returns
- to run your account, including password reset emails
- to email you about your orders, and about items you asked us to tell you about
- to keep the records the law requires for tax and accounting
We only use your information for these reasons. We never sell it.
Who else handles it
- PayFast processes online payments. It gets your name, email address and the order amount.
- Couriers get your name, phone number and address, so they can deliver your order.
- Supabase stores our accounts and orders. Its servers for our shop are in London, in the United Kingdom.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and counts page visits. The visit counts don't use cookies and don't identify you.
- Google sends our emails through Gmail (account emails, order updates and back-in-stock emails), and provides the font used on this website.
Some of these services store or handle information outside South Africa. We only use them for the reasons above.
How long we keep it
We keep your account until you ask us to delete it. We keep order records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting, usually five years.
How we protect it
Everything you send to this website is encrypted on the way. Only the shop owner can see orders and customer details, and each customer can only see their own orders.
Your rights
You can ask us:
- what personal information we have about you (you can also download it yourself from your account's Privacy section)
- to correct it if it's wrong
- to delete it, apart from records the law says we must keep
You can also object to how we use your information. If you're not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
Who to contact
Our Information Officer is Ovayo Gqum. Email ogcustomerc@gmail.com with any question about your personal information.
